The Community Centre was established over 40 years ago and has been serving the
local community ever since.
Centre membership is only £3 a year and entitles members to a discount on hiring the Centre for events or parties.
Each week there are a range of groups using the Centre who would be happy to see you.
The Drama Group write and produce their own plays at least twice a year for the village.
New performers are always welcome.
Chopwell Regeneration Group is a not-for-profit organisation, formed by residents who want to make Chopwell an even better place to live. Friends of Chopwell Wood is a voluntary community organisation and registered charity. We’re an enthusiastic group of people who work hard to promote and enhance Chopwell Wood by organizing events and activities, as well as delivering projects that help protect the woodland.
Derwent Lodge was consecrated in 1921 and we meet once a month, ten months a year at the Masonic Hall, Derwent Street, Chopwell, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
